Sealy Posturepedic Beds. Understanding the Terminology
Every bed and mattress manufacturer has its own and unique way of describing their products. And Sealy are no different. They spend enormous sums of money every year promoting the brand and their spring systems. But what does it all mean?
Posture Tech Spring System
Small diameter twice tempered individual springs with straight edges for enhanced stability. Tempering is a heat treatment technique applied to the steel springs, to achieve greater toughness by decreasing the hardness of the alloy. A full rod edge wire to the top and bottom of every spring unit provides total enhanced edge to edge support.
Edge Guard
Sealy edge guard is made from full length strips of 40mm thickness of polypropylene foam are set within the first row of springs to all four sides of the mattress providing unequalled edge support.
Posture Channels
Two full width polypropylene foam channels are inserted into the spring unit around the shoulder and hip area for correct spinal alignment.
5 Zone Pad – Posture Zone 5
5 zones of super soft foam creates pressure knock out zones and helps prevent tossing and turning.
7 Zone Pad of Memory Foam with Inergenic Latex – Posture Zone 7
A uniquely engineered profiled pad of memory foam combined with latex provides the sleeper with the optimum level of pressure relief combined with comfort and posture control giving a total Toss & Turn free zone.
Tencel Fibres
A ground breaking new fibre knitted into the mattress cover with cooling properties and outstanding moisture management. It also inhibits bacterial growth and is soft as silk.
Torsion Sprung Base
This uniquely constructed Sealy divan base is made to withstand the rigours of today’s lifestyles. The frame has a firm edge to all sides for enhanced support and performance and a strengthened spring system inset within the frame.
