The sumptuous pillow top mattress looks very appealing to lie on. As I sit on the side in readiness to lie down I am aware the mattress has a springy feel. This is in part due to the level of upholstery and the layers of Adaptiv™ springs in the pillow top. However, once I am firmly planted on the bed I feel the support of the pocket springs which stop me sinking. The side of the mattress holds it shape well whilst I’m sitting and is supportive. I would expect this of a Hypnos mattress as the 3 outer rows of springs are made of a stronger wire and there are 3 three rows of hand side stitching to give extra support.

As I lie back on the mattress I feel the pillow top almost envelopes me and provides wonderful cushioning. All voids in my back are fully supported as I try to slide my hand beneath my body and the mattress.

It is not the easiest mattress for me to roll over onto my side as I am 6’5” and 17 stone, but for lighter person it shouldn’t prove a problem. I feel much happier on side than I did on my back. After while it really does feel comfortable. I then move onto my front and this is also a comfortable position. Clearly the deep pillow top filled with generous layers of natural fillings and the adaptive springs make this mattress most suited to side and front sleepers.

I also tried this mattress on a platform top divan base which gives a firmer feel. The mattress felt infinitely better for a person of my size, particularly when lying on my back. I felt more supported and found it easier to move around on.
