But what you might not know about one of the country’s favourite mattress manufacturers, is that they are committed to sponsoring the careers of local athletes and sports stars.

One such sponsorship is that of local cyclist Amy Gornall, who Silentnight started sponsoring in 2016 and have just renewed her sponsorship for this year too. The 20-year-old road cyclist is in her 8th season of racing on the road, and has been highly successful in her cycling career including participating in the Tour de Yorkshire last month despite being plagued with injuries in 2016.

On her sponsorship, Amy said: “The support I’ve had from Silentnight over the past year has been hugely appreciated and I’m delighted that they are continuing the sponsorship for 2017.”

Amy’s goals for the 2017 season including riding more on the on the European circuit to gain experience internationally. She also wants to perform well in the National Series races.

When she’s not on the race circuit, Amy also works as a cycling reporter for and has also completed a sports massage therapy course.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Nick Booth, marketing director at Silentnight, said: “Being able to support the local community is incredibly important to us at Silentnight. We’ve been following Amy’s progress for a number of years, so are really proud to be able to continue sponsoring her.

“Amy is an incredible athlete who has already achieved so much in her short career. We hope to continue to support her for many years to come.”

Yet it’s not just Amy Gornall that Silentnight have chosen to support, the bedmakers are avid supporters of the local community and currently help sponsor Ghyll Junior Golf Team, Colne Cricket and Barnoldswick Town Football Club. Silentnight also, in partnership with BBC Radio Lancashire, supported last year’s Children in Need appeal.
