The sun was shining as we left Sussex and made our way round the M25 and up the M11 to the Huntingdon headquarters of Dunlopillo, Myers, Slumberland and Staples, 3 of our leading bed and mattress suppliers.

Myers, Slumberland and Staples were all launching new ranges which will be available for delivery to us at the end of June. Dunlopillo exhibited the current collection, which will change later this year. The new opulent Dunlopillo range of beds and mattresses will be launched at the Bed Show in Telford in September.

Myers-Bed-ShowroomIn all there were 31 new beds to look at excluding Dunlopillo. All 3 brands have worked extremely hard to produce a great new look to their ranges.

We were particularly pleased to see that the ¾ height shallow divan bases we saw at AIS that are available on our Dreamworld models will be rolled out across all models by all 3 brands.

Myers and Slumberland will also offer a new shallow divan base on legs. This will also be offered as an option across all models.

There’s a tremendous selection of divan base fabrics, 6 each for Myers and Slumberland and 10 from Staples. These will be offered across all beds and add the finishing touch to any bedroom. They are also complimented by a range of co-ordinating headboards.

Storage options will be available on all bases except the ¾ height shallow sprung edge bases. New shallow divans on legs and ottoman storage features strongly across the range.

The other major change is Staples will stop offering a firm edge option on their bases.

Highlights for us were the extremely comfortable Staples Pencarrow, the Slumberland Silver Seal and the Slumberland Gold Seal. For those wanting a nice firm bed, the Myers Backcare Excel ticked all the boxes.

All in all a very worthwhile trip to see a cracking collection of beds and mattresses.
