Caring for your Dorlux Bed

Carefully looking after your bed will ensure years of trouble free sleeping.

Dorlux Product Information

The Heart of a good bed is the spring system. At Dorlux we use 3 different types

MATTRESSES
Easyrest Pocketed Spring System
We believe the Dorlux Easyrest barrel shaped pocket spring system to be technically more advanced than most other pocketed spring systems.

The unique Easyrest barrel shaped springs are wider round the waist allowing them to telescope inside themselves when being compressed. This allows full flexing of the spring and ensures that the mattress cradles your body providing correct spinal support
The Easyrest spring ensure that the sleeping surface adapts instantly and silently to your every movement
Instead of being stitched into individual pockets Easyrest use non-allergenic, non-moisture absorbent pocket material for each individual spring meaning the pockets last longer and naturally provide a healthier sleeping environment

Flexiform
Flexiform is our advanced spring system and is manufactured exclusively for Dorlux

A Flexiform mattress contains hundreds of small individual springs, almost twice as many as a conventional sprung mattress, thus offering outstanding levels of comfort
Smaller and closer together the springs work individually, supporting the body and helping to reduce roll-together
A 150cm size mattress contain 651 individual springs compared with 325 springs in a standard open coil unit

Postureline

Hand made in the Calder Valley the Postureline spring system is unique to Dorlux Beds and has an interlinked system made from one continuous piece of wire, which enables all the springs to work in unison and is especially designed to promote restful sleep. As with all the springs used in Dorlux Beds these Postureline units are heat treated twice, firstly when the individual springs are formed and secondly when assembled, the entire unit is passed through a giant oven. The springs run from head to toe which results in exceptional individual support, eliminates roll together and adapts to the natural shape of your body. With 3 times the springs than an ordinary bed, the Postureline spring system is especially suitable for bedsteads and frames and the higher spring count gives a more individual and long lasting support.

Open Coil
This is the most widely used spring system within the bedding industry. It incorporates rows of hourglass shaped springs, which are joined to the neighbouring springs by a continuous small diameter spiral called a helical wire. These open coil units are heat treated twice, firstly when the individual springs are formed and secondly when assembled, the entire unit is passed through a giant oven.

Mattress Fillings
The material used for upholstering a mattress greatly influence the comfort and feel of a bed. All spring mattresses have an 'insulator', a primary layer next to the springs to ensure the sleeper is insulated from the feeling of the springs. Immediately under the cover is the softest layer, often foam, visco elastic or fibre, in between comes a varying amount of other fillings, providing comfort and durability.

Rebound/Polyester
The construction of rebound provides an open structure which breathes easily and transports moisture away from the surface to leave the body feeling comfortable

Rebound Cotton
Rebound polyester blended with cotton provides superior levels of comfort and support

Visco Elastic
Sleep easily with our Postureform mattresses. This wonderfully comfortable mattress collection is made with visco elastic - an advanced material which ensure weight is evenly distributed, preventing pressure build up in prominent areas of the body.

Finishing
Tufting is the traditional method of holding the various layers of fillings together. The process involves passing a series of tapes through the mattress, secured with tags and washers.

In a micro quilted mattress the top layers of filling are quilted together and then securely glued to other layers of filling

BASE OPTIONS
We offer 2 types of bases, a platform base and a sprung edge base.

The platform base consists of a fibre board top mounted on to solid timber slats for durability

A sprung edge base provides a softer fee, which is achieved by mounting a complete spring unit on t o a wooden base frame. This fully sprung base helps to increase the durability of the mattress by acting as a shock absorber for the wear and tear imposed by moving body weight
