Another year has flown by and it’s off to the National Bed Federation’s annual Bed Show at the International Centre Telford on Wednesday 26th September. Leading manufacturers of divan beds, bed frames, adjustable beds are gathered to showcase the latest ranges.

We left Sussex at 6.00am, arriving in Telford by 10.00am. A 420 mile round trip in one day is quite exhausting, but it proved to be very worthwhile for us. We were pleased to see our friends from Breasley, Myers, Nestledown, Relyon, Sealy, Sleepeezee, Slumberland and Staples who we regularly see at the AIS showrooms in Solihull, along with many other suppliers we don’t get to see so often.

Unfortunately we were not Sealy’s most important guests on the day as they had invited Frank Bruno to the show to launch the new range of Crown Jewel divan beds and an enhanced range of Ortho divan beds. The Crown Jewel collection was extremely good and most comfortable.

Breasley were showing a new range of pillows featuring latex and the cocona technology. As they had a large stand we were able to see the full range of vacuum packed mattresses, but did we want the free mattress stand they were offering? Breasley offer such a quick delivery on mattresses that it isn’t necessary.

Relyon launched a new top of the range collection of divan beds, the Royal Heritage Collection, These divan beds and mattresses have only the very best natural fillings that are available. They were truly luxurious beds.

However, the highlight of the show for Big Brand Beds was the Hilding Anders group. Myers had 2 new pocket sprung divan beds on show, something they aren’t known for and Slumberland had 2 stylish new divan beds which had a continental feel to them. They will make a great addition to our range once we have space in the showroom.

By 5.00pm even the uncomfortable beds and uncomfortable mattresses were beginning to feel comfortable, so we started our journey home.
