Interiors UK 2014 LogoAnother early start and it’s off up a very foggy M23 to the NEC for this year’s Interiors UK show. Considering the atrocious weather conditions we made good time and arrived at 9.00am.

Straight into Hall 5 and we immediately found ourselves a new kids bed and bedroom furniture supplier. All the furniture, which is primarily pine and painted mdf is made in Denmark and stocked in the UK. They are offering a 2-5 day turnaround, which will certainly please our customers.

It was then a case of walking up and down the aisles, stopping to talk to old friends and acquainting ourselves with potential new suppliers. Although the show has reduced in size there are still plenty of exhibitors, several that are of no interest to us as they are selling cheap beds and cheap mattresses, which we can only see problems with. Our policy is to stick to the established brands like, Relyon, Sealy, Slumberland, Staples etc that we know deliver a great product and have excellent after sales, guarantees and warranties. Basically, beds and mattresses we can sell with confidence.

Birlea-Jessica-Pink-Day-Bed-Frame-Open-blog-484.jpgBirlea have some great new bed frames and bunks, which we have already listed on Big Brand Beds. Interestingly, coloured bed frames are back and we are certain they will be popular, with black, cream, pink and white being used. The new Jessica day bed in pink is pictured.

Jual Furnishings were showing some really exciting new TV stands, coffee tables and dining tables. One range which is based on the extremely popular Curve design is sure to be a winner. All Jual’s new collections are due into stock at the beginning of April, so watch this space for more details.

Julian Bowen were showing their latest offerings, including bunk beds and sleepers, pine beds, day beds and white beds. With over 40 years experience of importing beds and bedroom furniture, Julian Bowen knows a thing or two about selecting winning products.

Before we know it, time is running out and we need to think about getting home. It’s a long hard day, but very rewarding. We have found 5 new suppliers that meet our high standards and are sure we will be dealing with online in the very near future.

It was also a very clear run back to Sussex, which is always a bonus!
