Where does time go? We’ve off to the AIS once again to the Bed Show. This year it’s a 2 day show with lots of new collections and fabric options to view. Although it's a 2 1/2 hour journey from Sussex, it's always a worthwhile trip.
Hypnos Beds & Mattresses
Our first port of call was the Hypnos stand. We have had a great start to the year with the entire range of Hypnos beds and mattresses. Our best selling Orthocare range has benefitted from an additional layer of wool in each mattress. This replaces the old denim filling. The additional wool layer has given the New Orthocare 6 mattress and the New Orthocare 10 mattress a slightly softer more sumptuous feel. The New Orthocare 12 has an additional layer of alpaca and has a truly luxurious feel.
Breasley Vacuum Packed Mattresses
It was then on to Breasley to see Jason. We looked at the You collection of vacuum packed mattresses. They feature an exclusive ConiCoil pocket spring with a choice of foam, viscool memory foam and latex. They are delivered next day and come with a 100 night sleep trial. We particularly liked the 10, 6 and 2 models.
Although Silentnight didn’t have any new models, we were keen to find out why our best selling Mirapocket 2800 Latex Pearl mattress felt so much firmer than the previous model. Graham assured us that the construction of the mattress was exactly the same as before, but the damask tick that had replaced the stretch cover had made it feel so much firmer. The Silentnight Mirapocket 1000 Geltex Ruby divan and mattress is pictured right.
Sealy Beds & Mattresses
We really liked the electrically operated ottoman and will probably feature this in our showroom with the Messina Pocket 1400 mattress, a Which? Best Buy.
Dunlopillo Beds & Mattresses
Prior to the show we ordered the new Dunlopillo range for the showroom. Seeing the beds again, reinforced that they are the rights beds for Big Brand Beds. The Diamond, Firmrest, Royal Sovereign and Orchid will all be on display in our showroom at 6 Keymer Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 0AD from Tuesday 3rd May.
Relyon Beds & Mattresses
There were no big changes at Relyon that affected the models we run. They have introduced new soft viscose mattress ticks for the Royal Options Collection and some new upholstery fabrics.
Myers Beds & Mattresses
Myers launched the new Dreamworld Malvern Easycare divan and mattress. This replaces the Elara and Azalea Easycare. With a good medium / firm feel and generous fillings, this bed should be a flyer at £399 for a double bed.
And beofre we knew it, it was time to go and write up the orders for the new showroom models.
