Although cold in Sussex in the morning, we were somewhat surprised to be faced with cars on the M42 with snow on them. Apparently there had been quite a big snowfall in Birmingham the night before. Even so, the roads were fine.
We visited all our current suppliers and Network 4, who do some of our warehousing and deliver our Hypnos and Relyon beds & mattresses. Highlights included:
First port of call was Birlea to see the new ranges of bedroom furniture, bed frames and mattresses. I have to say the 800 Pocket memory mattress was excellent and extremely comfortable. The new Richmond bedroom furniture, pictured below looks great as does the Aztec beech, which we have on display in our showroom.
It was then on to the Julian Bowen stand, to see Jez and the team. The current range is so strong that very few changes are needed. The best selling Amsterdam oak bed frame is now available as a low foot end.
We had a first meeting with Yvonne from Metal Beds. We have just started dealing with them so it was good to have the opportunity to put a face to the name. They have a really good range of budget bed frames and bunk beds.
Breasley were showing their ranges of vacuum packed mattresses which are still extremely popular. The Flexcell collection of pocket sprung mattresses continues to be among the best sellers and is part of the fast track next day delivery program Breasley offer.
There were several new suppliers we looked at, but in honesty they were either not up to the quality of product we like to sell or they duplicate what we do already.
Overall, a very worthwhile show even though many of our major suppliers were not exhibiting.
