Healthbeds Mattress and Bed Product Information

Healthbeds Mattresses

Technologically advanced fillings to help allergy and asthma sufferers. All Healthbeds mattress fillings are laid head to toe in the construction of the mattress to give an even ‘comfort feel’ over the entire sleeping area.

All Healthbeds mattresses are designed with no roll-off reinforced edge supports to ensure total comfort and provide extra sleeping area; they also incorporate side-air vents. Our No-Turn Healthi-Flo® models have an air-flo mesh on the underside which, when combined with our unique Healthi-Flo® base foundation, helps to recycle air and moisture through the mattress and base - allowing the whole bed to breathe.

Spring Tension

Where there is a choice of spring tensions, the tension is a guide only and the feel of the mattress will differ with every sleeper. A Healthbeds mattress will have a very different feel if an 8 stone person sleeps on it compared to an 18 stone person. We would always recommend a customer tries a bed or mattress before ordering to ensure the correct feel.

Healthbeds Divan Bases

The divan base compliments the mattress and provides essential support. Healthbeds offer 5 types of base to suit your individual needs.

Healthbeds Unique Healthi-Flo® Ventilated Air Circulation System helps to wick away the moisture and heat, promoting a healthier, fresher night’s sleep. Healthi-Flo® bases are available in three types of construction, all giving edge to edge support to the mattress and hence limiting ‘roll off’ feeling.

Sprung Bases

Traditional Multi-Spring Edge Base. Incorporates a fully sprung open coil spring which gives a luxurious springy feel to the whole bed.

Healthi-Flo® Multi Pocketed Upholstered Base with up to 1000 hand nested springs giving the very best foundation and the ultimate comfort feel

Healthi-Flo® Open Coil Interior Sprung Ventilated Base with up to 350 tension sprung coil springs, giving a medium firmness comfort and support.

Padded Top Bases

Padded top provides a very firm base support; usually chosen in partnership with a back-care specification for firmer support.

Healthi-Flo® Ventilated Padded Top Base. A firmer feel where extra support is required.

Drawers

All divans can be supplied with drawers without loss of comfort. Healthbeds drawers run with silky smoothness on steel runners. On the top of the range models plywood drawers with traditional dovetails are used.

Caring for your new Healthbeds mattress and Bed

Carefully looking after your bed will ensure years of trouble free sleeping

Open Coil and Pocketed Models

Traditional Healthbeds mattresses should be turned every week for the first 3-6 months and every month thereafter to give even wear and prolong lifespan. This action will minimise the depression that quite normally occurs when cushioning layers settle.

Visco Elastic , Latex and Non-Turn Models

The Healthbeds range now feature the No-Turn Easy Care mattress. Extensive testing and product development has resulted in this innovation, unique to Healthbeds, whereby the mattress does not need to be turned over at regular intervals, making care of the bed much easier! They only have one sleeping surface so should not be turned over but do need rotating through 180 degrees regularly.

All Models

  • We always recommend the use of a mattress protector
  • Avoid sitting right on the edge of the bed as this will put undue strain on the rod edge and perimeter springs. This may also damage the borders of the mattress.
  • Vacuum or soft brush your Healthbeds mattress regularly. Check that legs, castors and fixing bolts regularly to ensure they are firmly in position.
  • Ensure the children do not use the bed as a trampoline as this may damage the mattress.
  • Never fold or roll the mattress, even for temporary storage or removal, this will cause permanent damage to the internal components. Healthbeds have straight lengths of wire down each side which if bent will not straighten.
  • You should never use a new Healthbeds mattress on an old or inferior base, as this could damage or prematurely age the mattress.
  • Do not overload storage drawers. Excessive weight can cause distortion and damage the drawers.
